Inference Training: a reading comprehension intervention - Every child a reader
For pupils in KS2 and KS3 who have age appropriate decoding skills but who are experiencing difficulty acquiring full meaning and enjoyment from reading.

For pupils in KS2 and KS3 who have age-appropriate decoding skills but who are experiencing difficulty acquiring full meaning and enjoyment from reading. A group intervention but techniques can also be used to inform teaching of reading comprehension within classrooms. Inference Training is also extremely relevant for Foundation Stage and KS1 staff, since listening comprehension and reading comprehension are closely related. This training would support comprehension opportunities during Guided Reading.
If used as a group intervention, 4 pupils with a trained TA or Teacher for 2 sessions of 40 minutes per week for 8 to 10 weeks.
The cost is per delegate but it is recommended that both a Teacher and TA attend. Price includes 1 Inference Training folder per school and lunch).

Fiona can train new Reading Recovery teachers and provide continuing professional programmes for existing Reading Recovery teachers so that they can maintain their licence for Reading Recovery.
