Overview
The PE & Sports Hub has been a Professional Learning Centre for the Association of Physical Education (AfPE) for the past 8 years and has gained a reputation for high quality course delivery, particularly around the Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.We are currently recognised as the ‘Professional Learning Centre of the Year' by AfPE.This foundation has enabled us to develop and lead a bespoke full day workshop to support primary PE subject leaders to develop their subject while building evidence ready for an Ofsted inspection.

What you will learn
Combining practical activities and learning tasks to support primary PE subject leaders to:

The day consists of six sessions which combine practical activities and learning tasks:
1. Feedback from the latest Ofsted review into PE
2. What does a deep dive look like in logistical terms? What do you need to prepare as a leader?
3. Intent:
How do we demonstrate curriculum progression, breadth and balance whilst seeking mastery?
4. Implementation:
What does high quality PE look like in practice? What should PE look like in different phases of the school? Holistic development through PE
5. Impact:
Monitoring PESSPA
6.Action Planning

About your course leader
Steve Busby
Steve has many years' experience at teaching and leadership level in education. He has been the PE lead at four primary schools and one secondary school before becoming a primary school head teacher for 10 years. Steve is a director at The PE & Sports Hub and has been a consultant in PE for 10 years. He leads INSETs for schools and networks for PE Leads in addition to working for numerous Teaching School Hubs and delivering on Initial Teacher Training programmes. One subject leader at a recent deep dive workshop summarised Steve perfectly on the evaluation form; “Steve is a font of all knowledge, always full of useful advice and expertise.”
