What you will learn

The session will be run as training, however the purpose of the session is for subject leaders to be able to run it themselves back in school.

Prior to the training, participants will be sent the materials electronically so that they can access them and adapt them for use in school.

Participants will have an overview of the National Curriculum expectations for the teaching of spelling (KS1/2); a suggested sequence for the teaching of spelling; ideas for teaching homophones and tricky words; and suggestions for best practice around assessment of spelling.

Who is it for?

English subject leaders who would like to deliver spelling training in school.
