Tracey Collins

Tracey Collins is an Assistant Headteacher at St Mary's RC School Levenshulme.  She leads on SENd, Curriculum and Growth Mindset.

Marie Parker

Marie Parker is the maths lead, an SLE at Chorlton Park Primary School and an NCETM accredited maths lead.  She has been teaching at Chorlton Park for over 20 years, as class teacher and maths lead. In September 2014 she visited Shanghai as part of the national Shanghai maths hub project looking at teaching for mastery and since then has spent time developing the approach.

Caren Paterson

Caren Paterson is the year 3 TLR and professional mentor for students placed at Chorlton Park. As part of her NPQML, a management qualification, she is researching and driving a maths mastery approach within year 3.

Sonia Johnson

Sonia has over 30 years experience in the public sector over a wide range of roles predominantly supporting services for children and young people.  Her main focus has been in Human Resources, CPD, Financial planning and strategy and business management, though she was also a youth worker and has developed and implemented a number of innovative strategies and solutions supporting Schools, Social Care, Youth Work and Looked After Children to access the right support linked to clear and understandable business requirements. Sonia also worked for the DfE for over 6 years providing their outward facing links with schools with a key focus on Initial Teacher Training and Teaching Schools and has strong skills in partnership development.  She is now working with a number of schools, academies and teaching school partnerships to help them to access the ever changing education landscape and make the most of their resources.

Richard Gore

Following teaching English in France, Spain and Argentina Richard worked in secondary schools in Bradford and Cambridge supporting the inclusion and progression in school of pupils with English as an additional language. He then worked for Oldham LEA for nearly 20 years.  He had lead responsibility for an extensive philosophy for children and communities project. Since January 2012 he has been a freelance P4C trainer and consultant working on 2 national P4C projects providing both initial training and classroom based support to teachers and schools to develop and embed P4C practice whole school. He is a father of three primary aged children with whom he “does philosophy” around the kitchen table.

Shirley Murphy

Shirley is an experienced teacher, currently in Year 2 at St Johns RC Primary, Ofsted 'Outstanding'.  She is the Maths Lead & KS1 lead.


Shirley has been involved with the MTSA Maths Chapter group since its inception and has also recently lead the MTSA Year 2 network meeting.

Vikkey Draycott

Vikkey is a PE Advanced Skills teacher and SLE.  She has been teaching for ten years across all year groups. She is assistant headteacher and the safeguarding deputy at Pike Fold Primary School.  She has been a PE trainer for seven years and has given support to many schools.  She has written schemes of work for PE, Prevent and CSE.  Pike Fold is a Prevent Champion, one of only two schools in Manchester.  Pike Fold is also a training school for CSE.

Rachael Hawcroft

Rachael has been teaching for nine years across EYFS and Year 1.  She has been EYFS lead for four years.  Her EYFS department has been externally assessed as 'Outstanding' and her work shared with EYFS leaders across the city by working with EY2P.  Currently Rachael is assistant headteacher at Pike Fold Primary and leads on EYFS and whole school attendance.

Eithne Profitt

Eithne Proffitt is an accredited Ofsted Inspector and primary education specialist. She has held senior management positions in primary schools and has acted as Moderator for the Local Authority for Early Years Foundation Stage profiling and Key Stage 1 assessments. 

As a Senior Managing Inspector, Eithne led the training and management of inspectors and inspections across both primary and secondary phases and she has led and teamed inspections across a range of school settings. Most recently, Eithne has worked as Senior Adviser to the Ofsted Business Team and is an independent educational consultant. Her particular area of expertise is primary education, principally the Early Years Foundation Stage, quality learning and teaching and in Initial Teacher Education. 

Susan Walters

Susan has extensive leadership experience in a variety of roles within Primary education with a proven track record of improving schools. Susan is currently an Ofsted Inspector and has worked as a Team Inspector since 2010. She is also a Director of a Multi- Academy Trust. 

Before joining ECM, Susan was a Headteacher of a very successful primary school for 10 years. She successfully led the school from a satisfactory judgement to an outstanding Ofsted judgement in both 2008 and 2013. Ofsted described her as a highly inspirational and exemplary leader with an unrelenting approach to making the school the very best it can possibly be. Susan is passionate about continuous school improvement and the importance of galvanizing the whole-school community to do this. 

Throughout her career Susan has been committed to raising standards and improving lives for all. Susan has extensive experience of coaching, mentoring and supporting leaders in many schools. As a serving Headteacher she was a school improvement adviser for Cheshire West and Chester working with schools in an Ofsted category and schools that were judged to require improvement. She has experience of working with a teaching school in assessing candidates for the national qualifications in senior and middle leadership. She also worked with the local authority in assessing schools for the Inclusion Quality Mark. Prior to Headship she was a Leading Teacher in mathematics and the Early Years Foundation Stage. 

Susan maintains a keen focus on her own professional development as an Ofsted Inspector which enables her to support and challenge school leaders within the current educational climate. 

Susan successfully led her school through its conversion to an Academy as part of a Multi Academy Trust in January 2015.
